HOW TO SUBMIT A FILM?
The first step in registering your film is to create a username and account. This is done when you fill out your name, your email and create your password. Doing this generates a confirmation email sent to your email address. By clicking on the link in the email, you confirm your purchase and create an account for you and your film. You can come back to your registration page if you want to add, delete or edit information related to your account or information related to your film. You’ll need your email address and your password to do this. See Step 8, below.

Clicking Continue brings you to the credit card information page. Fill it out and press Continue. Credit card information is not stored on the website. If you do you come back to edit your film’s info, you will have to pass through this page again. This information has already been anonymized and is secure (see right). It is not stored on the website. Just click Continue and you’ll go to the Film Information Page.

After you fill out your credit card information and click Continue, you’re brought to the third page of the registration. This is where you supply your film’s information. The information you provide here will show up on your Filmmaker Page (see Step 7). The Main Image is the thumbnail that represents your film in its category. You can change this photo later, if you want.

When you enter names in any of the cast and crew boxes, there are a few things you should know. If you have more than one person doing a job, separate them with a hard return by pressing Return after each person’s name. Also, when you fill in your cast, separate the actor with his or her character’s name by an ellipsis ( ... ). For example: H. Bogart ... Sam Spade. Then enter a hard return for the next actor ... character listing. For crew members, you can separate their names and their positions with a comma (see right).
|
|
After adding all or some of your film’s info, click Continue. Any photos or images you browsed for will be uploaded (right). You will then be brought to the Film Upload page. Browse on your computer or hard drive for the film you want to upload. Keep in mind: films 18ptr than 1280 x 720 in resolution; and/or 1.5 gigabytes; and/or longer than 25 minutes won’t be accepted. This may take a while, depending on the size of your film and your connection speed. Our upload widget was designed to keep you company, though, telling you exactly how long the process will take.

After your film is uploaded, you still need to go to your email and confirm your account. Your page will be launched once you click on the link, shown underlined at right. Remember: you may partially fill out the info for your Filmmaker’s page now and come back to it later. But to do so, you have to click on this link to activate your account first.

Once you confirmed your account, your Filmmaker’s Page will come on line. It will look something like this (right). The “About This Film” tab has your synopsis or artist statement, your cast and crew lists and your photo gallery. “The Filmmakers” tab has your bio(s) and your blog. And “Home” brings you back to the film page.

You can add, edit or remove information on your Filmmaker’s Page. To do so, go to the Submit a Film registration page. Click “Already Have An Account?” and sign in with your username and password. You will then see the film or films you’ve submitted. Click “Edit Form” to change your information. You will come to your original registration form. Press “Continue” twice to get to the page with your film’s information and get to work. Click “Opt Out” if for some reason you need to withdraw your film from competition. “Delete” deletes your page.
